Hey guys! My name is Jiawei Yu, come from China, majoring in International studies - International business, a fourth-year student at UCSD, and I will graduate by this quarter. I am so glad to meet you all. Before I am taking this course, I don’t know much about South Asia food and I've barely tried South Asia food before. By taking this course, I would like to know more about the cultures and the food habits from South Asia, I also hope to learn more about dietary differences.
In my daily life, I enjoy playing video games, playing sports, and cooking. I started cooking a few months ago, partly to lose weight, and also I can control my daily calorie intake, and I really like to take pictures of it and post on my social media to share my life.
Recipe of homemade egg pudding
ingredients: water, eggs (Pasteurized egg is better), sugar, and milk.
step 1: put 1/2 tbsp sugar into a cup, mix with 1/4 tbsp water.
step 2: put the cup into the microwave, use medium heat warm for 1 minute 40 seconds. after this step, you will see the layer of caramel under the cup.
step 3: break the shell of the egg. put it into a bowl and stir. add 1/2 tbsp sugar and 120ml milk in it. strain the pudding liquid and put it on the top of the caramel.
step 4: use microwave medium heat to warm for 1 minute 40 seconds, take it out, and put the cup in the refrigerator for 2 hrs. you will have a chance to taste the delicious pudding.
personal interest: Healthy Diet, Sports - A series of problems caused by the quality of food and how to maintain the balance diet structures. Possible specific directions might be: Personally, I'm more interested in basketball, soccer, rugby, etc., but if I had to narrow it down to South Asia, I would choose yoga, and I would look for some connection between yoga and the structure of the Indian diet.
