Hi and welcome to my research project! My name is Odina Cabrera and I am currently a fourth-year undergrad at UCSD. I am studying International Business and minoring in Marketing!
Food wise, I have always considered myself open to trying new things but can always rely on my favorite comfort meals! Although my food allergies have limited my access to foods everyone loves, I have still managed to experience new tastes wherever I go.
I am a fan of al types of food, but my current favorite are Korean, Japanese, and Mexican cuisines! These flavors always exceed my expectations whenever I go.
Throughout my academic journey, I have gained an interest in the world of marketing and its impact on a business or a particular market. Growing up with social media, my curiosity allowed me to acknowledge the rate at which modern advertising has changed in the current business world. I eventually came to enjoy the aspects of business strategy and consulting, and hope to pursue a career in market research!
In an effort to expand my knowledge in the field, I have had the opportunity to conduct business research, analyze marketing channels, and work on marketing campaigns within my academics and involvement with a marketing organization at UCSD.
For the INTL 190 research project, I chose avocados as the focus of my paper. I specifically dive into the avocado industry as a whole, and the evolution of what the market eventually came to be. I address the role of consumer behavior with avocado demand, as well as the impacts of the industry on its top exporter: Mexico.
