Your local anthropologist (in progress), Amanda! Hello, and welcome to my page! I'm a first-year Revelle student and my concentration is Climate Change and Human Solutions! Home for me is Bangkok, Thailand. Being raised in a multicultural household meant that I've grown up having a variety of meals. I'd say my mom and sister are the chefs of the kitchen, they're really the ones who know all of the Thai dishes. Being so far away from home has really invigorated my cooking spirit, so I hope to better understand food as a part of my identity going forward in this class!
That's me at the Revelle Plaza!
My sister the "chef"!!
Satay (A popular Southeast Asian dish, often eaten in Thailand)
I can't physically list everything I'm interested in, but I can give the top contenders. Despite being in the social sciences, my hobbies lie in the arts!
I love dance and singing, meaning theatre tags along by default. I also love almost everything related to film, from the directing to the acting, the lighting to the cinematography, and of course, the music. Hobbies I have that I want to make more time for are reading and playing badminton! I also just enjoy finding out about people and what makes then human. Really fitting that I'm in Anthropology it seems!
