I used to spend hours collecting and reading books in games like Morrowind or Baulder's Gate years back and though it's not for every player, I fill my worlds with as many lore books as I can cram into them. These books I wrote by folding a sheet of printer paper in four and only writing as much as will fit in one quarter. I think that's more than enough for a mouse-sized book. Most of these books were written with lore from my setting The Secret Kingdom, but you are welcome to edit them to fit your setting or use them as is. Many books may have nonsense words or sentence structure, this is intentional to attempt to simulate various species and social class dialects and writing styles depending on the context.
Special thanks to Gilbals for helping me format and adding wonderfully immersive summary lines to each book along with a variety of NPC authors.

"When selecting a point in which to cut a door, the wise maus will knock upon the base of thyne wall with a tool or hard object. Place thy ear to the wall and listen for an echo. If the base does not echo, then it is solid and will dig into nothing. If it is a sound like that of a tree hollow, then there is a space beyond. For in the opposite way, one must knock an acorn upon a rock, if it echoes then the nut is hollow and rotten and should be dropped."

Swift being so swift, jumped to one side then the other, avoiding the merciless moving obstacles."

"It should be most important to take string of good strength, enough to carry one's weight if one should fall. Sharp pegs and a hammer to tie strings upon as one ascends a vertical trunk. Some trees are far easier to hold onto with many hand and footholds. A nimble maus may climbeth thy tree without safety and in so doing make it look easy. But do not trade showing off or safety lest one falls and breaks thy bones."

-Tread by day in shade and swiftly walk to make no sound.
-Let not conversation linger that will attract the winged talons or the hunting cat lord.
-Leave ty offering upon your wake should one take your trail, bird seed not but cut of dry for the talons and nip of cat for ty feline.
-In the night its easier to hide and move swift though illuminate no torch nor lamp lest it be a beacon ty any predator keen and searching at night.
-Be wary still for night be the realm of hunters as the owl or the fox.
-Swift and silent be, and seek shelter in hollow or deep den from the bitter cold.
