This section is a work in progress, developed by the Mausritter community. I will update it as books and spells are provided. Credit is given to each contributor under the spell listed. Drollerie Magics

Introduction

Once a humble storybook commissioned by a noble family, the magical ink used in its writing was intended to cast illusions as its pages were read to enhance storytelling. Strangely, the marginalia creatures of this illuminated manuscript have come to life, re-writing and taking over this storybook. Ink tendrils seep out of its pages, and beckon the reader to bring its reality into our own. I am Quill Mossoak, librarian and collector of rare and unique manuscripts from across the realms. Here in are my notations after years of studying this Spell book. May it be a guide.

Animate: Lepritter

Effect: A pool of ink gathers near your feet and begins to grow until it takes the form of a mouse-sized rabbit. It will fight at your side and obey your every command without question. It will turn back into a pool of ink after [DICE] Turns, or until it is defeated.

Recharge: Draw a picture of a Lepritter on a bit of paper and place it between the pages of the book for a week or until the paper vanishes.

HP 4 STR 10 DEX 10 WIL 10 DEF 1 (Shield). Attack: Sword d6/d8

Animate: Lepritter

Effect: The target of this spell gains the condition Rewrite. For the duration of the spell, whenever the target would roll, they roll twice. The caster then chooses the result. Lasts for [SUM] Rounds.

Recharge: Crush a set of wooden dice and sprinkle the splinters over the tendrils of ink that sprawl from this book so that it may absorb them.

Clear: After spell end

Dancing Script

Effect: Any visible text within three feet of the caster, including letters chiseled into stone will change and re arrange according to the caster’s will. The text will revert after [DICE] +2 Turns.

Recharge: Cut the letters out of a full page of text and sprinkle them over the tendrils of ink that sprawl from this book so that it may absorb them.

Conjure Ink

Effect: Creates a vial’s worth of magical ink equaling one use. What is drawn with this ink becomes a physical object for [DICE] +2 Turns.

Recharge: Drench a piece of furniture completely in normal ink and place this spell book beneath it for three days or until the ink is completely dry.

Conjure Ink

Effect: A splash of black ink explodes around the caster to hide them from view. Anyone within 12" of the caster must make a DEX save or be blinded by ink splatter for [DICE] x2 Rounds or until the ink is washed off.

Recharge: Take a fresh squid and cut out its ink gland, then squeeze the inky contents over the cover of this spell book so that it may be absorbed.

Redact

Effect: A large painted X of ink appears to scratch out a target, causing them to freeze in place for [DICE] +1 Rounds. Target cannot be moved, harmed or be interacted with until the spell ends.

Recharge: Draw a hundred X’s on a bit of paper and place it between the pages of the book for a week or until the paper vanishes.

Manual of the Spider Cult

Lore: The pages of the book are made of spider silk and its bindings of chords made of webbing. Its pages are said to be written with ink made from spider venom and the cover is the thick hide of an orb spider.

Effect: Immobilizes a creature that can't escape alone until [DICE] days have passed and the webs weaken. The target and caster must be still for 2 combat rounds while the spell weaves the cocoon.

Effect: The target weapon does Impaired damage until the webbing is cleaned (takes [DICE] combat rounds)
