How to set up an eSIM
Setting up an eSIM is usually as simple as turning on your new iPhone and following the on-screen instructions.
If your carrier supports eSIM carrier activation or eSIM quick transfer, you can activate your eSIM while setting up your iPhone.
With eSIM carrier activation, your carrier assigns an eSIM to your iPhone when you purchase it.
With eSIM Quick Transfer, you transfer your SIM from your previous iPhone to your new iPhone yourself.
There is no need to contact your carrier.
Either way, to activate your eSIM during setup, turn on your iPhone and follow the onscreen instructions.
You can also use these methods later to add or transfer an eSIM.
If these methods aren't available, contact your carrier to activate your eSIM using a QR code or your carrier's iPhone app.
If you purchase an iPhone 14 model in the United States, your iPhone is activated with an eSIM.
To activate your eSIM using eSIM Carrier Activation, eSIM Quick Transfer, or other activation methods, turn on your iPhone and follow the onscreen instructions.
Enter eSIM information manually
1) Contact your carrier to obtain the eSIM information you need to enter.
2) Open "Settings".
3) Tap "Mobile communications" or "Mobile data communications".
4) Tap "Add mobile plan".
5) Tap Enter details manually at the bottom of your iPhone screen.

Erase your eSIM
If you ever need to erase your eSIM, please follow the steps below.
1) Open "Settings".
2) Tap "Mobile communication" or "Mobile data communication".
3) Tap the plan you want to delete.
4) Tap "Delete mobile data plan".
About eSIM on Google Pixel smartphones
Things necessary
1) Pixel 4 and newer: All smartphones support eSIM.
2) Pixel 3a: Verizon service or smartphones purchased in Japan do not support eSIM.
3) Pixel 3: Smartphones purchased from US or Canadian carriers other than Sprint and Google Fi do not support eSIM. Smartphones purchased in Australia, Taiwan, and Japan do not support eSIM.
4) Pixel 2: Only smartphones purchased with Google Fi service support eSIM.
5) Pixel (2016): There are no smartphones that support eSIM.
How to set up an eSIM
1) Open the Settings app on your smartphone.
2) Tap Network & Internet.
3) Tap the add icon next to Mobile networks.
4) Scan the QR code
5) Tap your network to configure call and text message settings. Tip: If you want your phone to ask you to confirm your network settings every time, tap Ask me every time.
Delete an eSIM or set a password to be required for eSIM deletion
Remove eSIM
1) Open the Settings app on your mobile device.
2) Tap Network & Internet and then Mobile networks.
3) Select the eSIM you want to delete.
4) Tap Remove SIM.
Require password to remove eSIM
1) Open the Settings app on your mobile device.
2) Tap Security, then Advanced settings, then Confirm SIM removal.
*For Android devices, tethering communication may not be possible even if automatic settings are made.
In that case, please try setting the APN information.
No settings are required if the settings are automatically configured after inserting the SIM.

Data communication is not possible even though Physical SIM is installed.
If data communication is not possible with Physical SIM installed in the device, the following may be the cause:
1. If you are set to use another line
iPhone: If another line is selected in Settings → Mobile Communication → Mobile Data, please select the correct SIM line.
Galaxy: Select the correct SIM in Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → SIMs.
Pixel: Select the correct SIM in Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs.
*After making the change, if you are unable to communicate data even after waiting for a while, please restart your device.
2. If APN is not set *If the antenna is erected but 4G, 5G, etc. is not displayed, this may be the cause.
APN settings are required for Android devices (excluding some models). Please enter the APN from the SIM settings screen.

3. Flight mode is turned on. If data communication is turned off
If flight mode is on, turn it off.
If the SIM (eSIM) setting is off, turn it on.
4. In case of poor physical SIM contact
Physical SIM may not be able to be read due to poor contact with the device. In that case, turn off the device and remove the SIM card from the SIM slot.
Gently wipe the metal part of the SIM card with a dry cloth, insert the SIM card again, and then turn on the device.
5. If there is a problem with the communication environment at your location
This line can be used all over Japan, but if the signal is difficult to reach in some places, there are some places outside the support area where it cannot be used at all.
There are some places where radio waves cannot reach, such as inside buildings or underground with many shielding objects such as concrete, at high altitudes, in the mountains or in forest areas.
Also, there are some areas within the airport where it may be difficult to use the service due to radio wave interference, so in that case, please try moving to another location and see if you can connect.
Unable to read eSIM (QR code).
If you are unable to add an eSIM due to a QR code reading error, please check the following.
1. The device does not support eSIM.
Please check the list of eSIM compatible models. *Operation cannot be guaranteed for models not listed in the list.
2. Trying to add it again even though it has already been configured
For iPhone, if the eSIM name (sub line etc.) is available, it has been added to the Settings → Mobile Communications → SIM item.
For Galaxy, if you can see the eSIM in Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → eSIMs, it has been added.
For Pixel, if you can confirm Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → eSIM, it has been added.
3. I added it once and then deleted it.
Please note that if you delete your eSIM data, it cannot be reissued.
4. The device is not SIM-locked
Please unlock the SIM at your contracted carrier.
5. If you are unable to register the eSIM using the QR code, please try registering the eSIM by manually entering the code.
If the QR code cannot be read due to some error, you can register the eSIM by manually entering the code provided.
Please select manual code entry in the eSIM setup procedure and try the setup.
Data communication is not possible with eSIM.
If data communication is not possible even though the eSIM is registered on the device, the following may be the cause:
1. If you are set to use another line
iPhone: If another line is selected in Settings → Mobile Communications → Mobile Data, please select the correct eSIM line.
Galaxy: Select the correct eSIM under Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → eSIMs.
Pixel: Select the correct eSIM in Settings → Network & Internet → eSIMs.
*After making the change, if you are unable to communicate data even after waiting for a while, please restart your device.
・If data from eSIM used in the past remains
If eSIM data used in the past remains, you may not be able to register or use a new eSIM.
If there is no problem with deleting the line, please delete the eSIM data and then try configuring the purchased eSIM.

Can I transfer the installed eSIM to another device (or new device)?
We do not support transferring your eSIM to another device.
Can I install an eSIM profile on two or more devices using the same eSIM?
One esim cannot be installed and used on multiple devices. If you want to use it on two or more devices, please purchase an eSIM for each device.
Please tell me which devices are available.
・Physical SIM
Basically, you can use any SIM-free smartphone device. It is possible that it may not work on some models that are not global terminals.
・eSIM
Please refer to the eSIM operation confirmed devices. We cannot guarantee the operation of devices that are not listed, so please purchase at your own discretion.
Can I use phone calls and SMS?
SIM is for data communication only, so calls and SMS using the phone number cannot be used.
However, you can make calls using VoIP apps such as WhatsApp and Messenger.
Can I use tethering?
Yes, it supports tethering. When using it, please enable the tethering function from the device settings.
*The amount of data communication that can be used for tethering is set for each plan (3GB to 15GB). If you are unsure of your data capacity, please check with your purchaser.
When will you start using it?
The usage start date is the day you install the SIM on your device and start data communication.
When does the service end?
Usage will end at 23:59 (Japan time) on the last day of each plan you purchased.
Can I check the amount of data used?
We do not provide information on the amount of data communication used.
Please check the amount of data used on your smartphone display, tools, apps, etc.
Can I add more data if I run out of data?
You cannot add more data, so if you run out of data within the usage period, please purchase a new SIM.
Does the SIM have an expiration date?
SIM has an expiration date set. If you cannot confirm the expiration date, please contact the place of purchase.
Are there any fees required after purchasing the SIM?
Since it is a prepaid type line, there are no costs other than the purchase price.
Can I cancel my SIM?
We do not accept cancellations or returns after SIM (eSIM / Physical SIM) purchase.
Can I change/reissue my SIM plan?
There are no rules for changing, reissuing, or replacing the SIM (eSIM/Physical SIM), so you will need to purchase it again.
