Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Purdue University
Professor Jian Xie joined the Purdue faculty in 2007 (Indiana University Purdue University in Indianapolis) and he was appointed to Professor of Mechanical Engineering in 2015. His research focuses on the clean energy application such as new catalyst design for high performance proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) and energy storage materials for lithium ion batteries. During the period 2001-2004, he was a postdoctroal member of Los Alamos National Labotatories. He earned a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Tianjing University, China in 1982, M.S. degree in Chemistry from University of South Dakota in 1996, and Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Miami University in 1999.
