MakeCode Window 10 App

In January the Microsoft released a Windows 10 App for Microbit MakeCode. Microbit.org posted a blog in January 2018 talking about its new features. (https://support.microbit.org/support/solutions/articles/19000075127-makecode-for-micro-bit-windows-10-app)

A couple of the exciting features of the app are:

Automatically program your micro:bit over USB, without needing to drag-and-drop the file onto the micro:bit drive.
Directly read serial data from your micro:bit for data logging and other fun experiments. This allow the collection of data in real time which can be downloaded in a CSV file for additional analysis in a spreadsheet.
