I grew up near Nashville, TN, and completed my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at Freed-Hardeman University where I was also a scholarship student-athlete on the university soccer team. At FHU, I met Laura, whom I would eventually go on to marry after we graduated. Both of us then went to Abilene Christian University where we completed MA degrees. We then both went on to PhD programs at Saint Louis University, and now we live in Malibu, CA where we are both on faculty at Pepperdine University. Yes, we know that we are absurdly lucky. In 2018 we had our first child and in 2023 we had our second.
When I'm not reading and writing about philosophy, I have many hobbies to keep my interest. My favorite is spending time with my family. If I'm spending time alone, you might find me reading, playing chess, or watching NBA basketball.
I'll probably show you cute pictures of my kids if you feign even mild interest. You've been warned.
