Charlotte Ringdal

Welcome to my homepage. I am a senior researcher at Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI), Bergen, Norway and co-director for the Development Learning Lab.  I am also affiliated to FAIR (Norwegian School of Economics). I previously completed a post-doc at CREED at the University of Amsterdam and a post-doc at CMI.

My primary research interests lie in family economics, with a particular focus on marital conflict, intimate partner violence, and violence against children, including corporal punishment and female genital mutilation (FGM). I am also interested in intra-household resource allocation, women's empowerment, child development, and reproductive and sexual health issues such as family planning and menstruation.
