I am a practicing physician and Associate Professor of Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. My research examines the drivers of health and socioeconomic inequality. 

I am the founding director of the Opportunity for Health Lab, a non-partisan research group that seeks to identify policies and interventions that can jointly bolster economic opportunity and health in the United States. We strive to conduct research that reflects the experiences and priorities of the American public and is useful for policymakers.
