The Commencement of Prospect High School will be held the evening of Wednesday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. indoors in the Jean Walker Field House.
Graduate Arrival and Ceremony Time
Graduates should report to Gyms 1 and 2 appropriately attired with cap and gown at 5:30 p.m. Graduates will enter through doors 23 and 24.
Graduates should leave all valuables at home.
The ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. and last approximately 1½ hours.
Tickets/Seating
Updated Tuesday, May 20, 2025: Graduation will be held indoors in the Jean Walker Field House on Wednesday, May 21 at 7:00 PM.
All seniors will receive 4 indoor tickets for graduation. They will get them at graduation practice. These 4 indoor tickets are only for the field house. Prospect High School will not replace lost tickets nor are extra tickets available.
One must have a ticket to enter the field house regardless of age. All guests sitting in the field house must have a designated indoor ticket. Guests with an indoor ticket must enter at doors 23 and 24.
Non-ticketed & overflow seating will be available in the cafeteria and theater. Non-ticketed & overflow seating must enter at door 30. There is a link for the livestream of graduation that can be shared with families at home.
Doors for ticketed and non-ticketed guests will open at 6:00 p.m.
Please refrain from bringing in balloons, noisemakers, or anything else that may distract from others enjoyment of the ceremony.
Graduates will also be given two commemorative tickets as a keepsake. Those are not valid for entry.
Dress Code
For the safety of the students participating in the commencement ceremony as they walk on the turf and across the stage, graduates are expected to follow the guidelines for acceptable dress. Students not adhering to this dress code will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony.
Girls: Dress, skirt and top, or dress slacks and top are all appropriate. Because of the artificial turf, absolutely no spiked heels are allowed. We strongly recommend flats or shoes with stacked heels (no tennis shoes, sports shoes or “flip-flops”). Jeans or shorts are unacceptable.
Boys: Collared shirt (optional tie), dress slacks, and dress shoes (no tennis shoes, sports shoes, sandals, or “flip-flops”). Jeans or shorts are unacceptable.
Caps, Gowns and Diplomas
Graduates may keep their gowns, caps and tassels.
Diplomas are received during the ceremony.
Smoke/Vape Free Campus
Prospect High School is a smoke-free campus. No smoking and vaping will be tolerated before, during, or after the ceremony.
