Our Energy AI Lab is focusing on the modernization and automation of power and energy systems to accommodate large-scale utility-level energy renewables (e.g. solar/wind farms, storage facilities), distributed energy renewables (DERs) (e.g. rooftop PV, EV, Tesla batteries, and flexible loads). The research interest is mainly focused on machine learning for power system planning and operation, large-scale EMT simulation, cyber-physical power system, and monitoring and control of large-scale renewable energy systems.
