Vinicius Okada da Silva

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Before joining the University of Illinois, I obtained a B.S. in Math and Physics and a B.A. in Economics from Case Western Reserve University.

My interests broadly lie in economic history and development. In my job market paper, I study the long-term effects on land concentration and development in Brazil due to colonial land grants called sesmarias.

I'm on the 2024-2025 Job Market
