Community Guide

Our training programs are spread across all of Pennsylvania, and our home base is in Pittsburgh located in Western Pennsylvania at the confluence of three rivers where the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers merge to form the Ohio river. While Pittsburgh has many names including "The Burgh", "The Steel City", and "The City of Bridges", it has undergone a renaissance from the heart of the Steel Industry to a tech-hub for innovation, education, and healthcare (that's you).

You will soon call this place your home for the next step in your training. Our programs are all located in cities that offer affordable housing, fantastic food, and plenty of opportunities for recreation and entertainment.

This site was created to help those incoming residents and fellows get to know the city from the perspective of current trainees and to be a living resource for future generations of UPMC residents and fellows.
