I am a Senior Research Scientist at Google DeepMind.
Previously, I was a Faculty Fellow in Computer Science at NYU Courant, hosted by Prof. Saining Xie. I received my Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where I was advised by Prof. In So Kweon. Prior to that, I earned my B.S. degree in electrical computer engineering from Seoul National University (SNU). During my Ph.D. studies, I interned at Adobe Research (San Jose, CA) and Meta AI (Menlo Park, CA). I am a recipient of both the Microsoft Research Asia PhD Fellowship and the Google Research PhD Fellowship.
My research focuses on designing effective visual models to understand our worlds better and on developing efficient learning frameworks to utilize data at scale with minimal human supervision.
