Giljoo Nam is a computer science researcher who combines graphics, vision, and machine learning to develop innovative solutions for 3D digital content creation. His research focuses on democratizing content creation technologies, including large-scale 3D generative models, neural rendering, material appearance modeling, and photorealistic digital humans. By leveraging various datasets such as multi-view videos from specialized capture systems and uncurated in-the-wild images, his research enables automatic and easy creation of high-quality digital content. His research has been published in top-tier conferences, including SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH Asia, CVPR, ECCV, and NeurIPS. His work has also resulted in multiple successful open-source projects, including photorealistic avatars, 3D hair modeling, and physically-based rendering of hair.
