This session will be provided by our Local Mental Health Authority, Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. As required by §153.1015, School district employees who regularly interact with students are employees working on a school campus, including, but not limited to, teachers, coaches, librarians, instructional coaches, counselors, nurses, administration, administrative support personnel, student support personnel, paraprofessionals, substitutes, custodians, cafeteria staff, bus drivers, crossing guards, and district special programs liaisons. This session is available to ALL staff. Time is going to be from 8:30-4:30 with an hour lunch. All staff who interact with students must be trained by 2028-2029 school year.

This professional learning course is designed to empower educators with effective strategies for boosting reading outcomes among students using Boost Reading and Lectura. Participants will gain an overview of the programs, how to access data reports, and strategies for utilizing it in the classroom. This is an introductory session. Participants will also explore scaffolds to support struggling readers and will collaborate with grade-level peers to practice and plan for classroom implementation.

Time will also be provided for collaboration and planning.

Participants will be guided through a streamlined internalization process and experience a model lesson that showcases embedded tools for simplifying planning and instruction. Teachers will then collaborate with peers—supported by a coach—to internalize their upcoming lessons. Teachers will also learn how to use the Amplify HUB and PD Library to explore important tools that we have available.
